A lazy boy recliner I purchased with a warranty broke. I was able to a replacement recliner but not with an another lazy boy. The replacement chair I picked out was a Colton chair that was the last one on the floor. 1k. The chair barely lasted two months before the material started to feather. I should of kept the lazy boy at least the fabric on that one was good just wouldnt recline. I was told since last floor model. It was purchased as is! No one told me about that rule. So Im stuck with a recliner that is falling apart. Never will I return to that store.

Star Furniture Protection Plan - Do not buy

I purchased a 3yr protection plan for my leather reclining sofa and loveseat, and coffee table. It says accidental coverage is covered but this is false. I submitted a claim because our recliners were too close to the wall when reclined causing a few minor tears/ruboff on the top/corners but was told it is not covered under my plan. How can a dog or cat destructure event covered but not this minor accident? Unfortunately not only the protection plan compant (Montage) will be affected but so will Star Furniture for agreeing to this nonsense. I Will never shop at Star Furniture again!!!

Request to waiver interest on loan

A nightmare, I never missed a payment, I had the money to pay contract interest free payment, my husband died from COVID the same week contact ended, and I had just gotten out of hospital from COVID. Due to a world wide epidemic the entire world shut down, Star could have helped the customer by allowing their database to contact us or some type of courtesy notification, Im requesting a waiver of interest

We purchased the sofa and ottoman in March of 2021, by August on the front of the couch the leather was wrinkly, we contact Star and they sent the repair person out. The repair warranty person pulled out a heat gun and attempted to smooth out the excess material.

Now it's October and it's back along with the fabric underneath the couch is now showing.

We contacted Star again on October 24, 2021 and asked if they could come and pick up the couch for a store credit, we were told we needed to send pictures again,,,, and they would send someone out again but that's all they can do.. so we're stuck with a piece of junk.

Do yourself a favor by from a reputable company that appreciates your business and not just out to make a buck.

New Sofa Broken

Bought a new motorized recliner in 12/20 with extended warranty. By March 2021 one side had stopped reclining. Called support and they sent a repair man out. He said the motor needed to be replaced and would take 3 months to arrive. So it's now 7/28/21 and the sofa is still broken. They were supposed to come back out yesterday but the part was not there for the repairman to pickup.

I purchased a large motioned reclining sectional in March 2018. We had to personally pick it up in a moving truck because we live outside Stars delivery service.

The furniture was all wrapped and sealed so visual inspection was not possible before bringing the furniture home. Once home we immediately saw a scrape on the surface of the leather on the left love seat portion of the section. We called, and they shipped a cushion and sent a contract repairman to install the cushion. It was the wrong cushion, it was for the right sofa it just was not the left love seat cushion.

Now almost three years and today I received the 6th cushion, and it is still not the left love seat piece. Two times Star has said they had the cushion but did not know how to get it to us. We explained how it was done the first time, but we never received those two cushion. The cushion before this one was sent to the contract repair company and was supposedly on the repairmans truck, but I never could get a return call on that one, so I do not know if that one was right or not.

To make the situation worse, the seat cover we were sent today is the different from our sectional regard the texture and where the texture is on the cushion. It is quite different. I was calling monthly, but it always ended with Star saying they would call me back and of course never did.

Now, I email and get a response, but I still have not received resolution to this problem or even acknowledgement for how outrageous this has become. They do not care.

Terrible on repair warantees

I am 80 years old. My husband is 85 and very disabled. We purchased a reclining-lift chair for him as he can not stand up after sitting, on his own. I purchased a 5 year repair warantee on the chair. We have had big problems with it for some time, now. A month or more ago, I called repair. They came and decided they needed to order parts to repair it. I have called and am not allowed to talk to anyone in management. Today, I called again. I was told sometimes it takes up to 90 DAYS to obtain a repair. I told them this wasn't a lamp or such. It is a VERY much NEEDED lift chair, a necessity! I was told the parts were in and the repair had told them they called me. I did NOT receive a call or a message! I am still waiting. This is not a luxury item; it is a necessity!!! Surely a company as well known and as big as Star Furniture could do much better than this. I feel HELPLESS! If the chair completely goes out on it after jerking and making weird sounds, what am I to do? I will not be able to get my husband out of the chair.

Never purchase 'extended warranties'. They are cash cows for the 'provider'.

Think 'insurance company' ; we will put you back to where you were yesterday before the screw fell out, not a new chair.

Disabled status is meaningless ; full payment by anyone should result in proper service. There are no special perks.

Poor Customer Service and Poor Delivery

They sent a text notifying me of the date and time range (9/1/2020, 4 pm-7 pm) to expect the delivery. Day of delivery arrives, they call 4 hrs ahead of the scheduled time and say they are on the way to make the delivery.

I didn't answer b/c I was in a meeting. 2 hours later, I call the # back and no answer, I text no answer. I finally called the main office only to be told that they are trying to reach the dispatcher and they would call me back with an update, I asked when they close and they said 7 pm. I call back at 5:30 pm and again at 6:46 pm looking for an update.

I'm told the dispatcher doesn't answer the phone and they can't do anything for me, I would have to call back tomorrow morning at 9:30 am to get it rescheduled.

Everybody had an attitude, where is the customer service that I paid for. Why do I have to call them back! Communication gap is awful between the dispatcher and Star Furniture overall.

I won't be buying from this place again, EVER! The lack of effort from all parties is astonishing.

Not pleased with customer service

I purchased a dining table and chairs 24 months ago. I also purchased the Guardian insurance coverage. We noticed the laminated top on the table had bubbled and separating at a seam. I placed a claim with Guardian which was denied saying it wasn't damaged it separated. I contacted Star's customer service and included pictures. I was told to expect a call from a supervisor each day for 5 days. No one called. I called again and was told water seeped into the top causing the bubbling. They would not repair or replace. I had no options.

We originally ordered Craftmaster furniture in March 2019 thru Star Furniture in Houston, and to date, no satisfaction. The 1st order, received in May, the 2 ottomans were the correct fabric color, but 1 ottoman had a lopsided cushion, the sofa and love seat were different shades of fabric along with several quality issues, crooked legs, loose bottom fabric covering, etc. we were also shorted pillows that came with the original order. Contacted Star, sent pics, they were to reorder, love seat, sofa and 1 ottoman. that was in May. Not til 13 June we were told a rep was coming out to our house with the original fabric swatch to determine if fabric was different. What, I though it was reordered??? The rep determined it was clearly a different shade from the swatch. Star then told us wrong color was ordered and thus a 2nd order was placed on 17 June for love seat and sofa only with ETA September, they had already reordered 1 ottoman. At one point we just asked for a refund but Star said no refunds on special orders. Finally received the replacement ottoman, and fabric is yet another shade of fabric. We now have 3 different shades of fabric on this furniture; that is incredibly unacceptable! We just recently received the 2nd order of sofa and love seat, and, again, wrong shade of fabric, delivery people could see the colors were different, even took my 1 original ottoman with the correct fabric color on my front porch, took pics to show the difference in the colors again, while on the phone with Star Furniture, and Star advised me to reject it, so I did. We do know colors of fabric can vary not coming from the same bolts, and that is exactly why we ordered love seat, sofa and ottomans at the very same time!!! At this point, Star Furniture wants to give us credit for all, come pick up original ordered furniture and leave us without, not willing to take charge and get resolved. We ordered this furniture in March, sold my furniture a couple days before delivery, and here it is September 2019 and we're about to be sitting on the floor. Everything has been a nightmare with this order, which was never anticipated, and now to call it quits and we go look for sofas again, and go without seating in our home!?! An easy fix for everyone, except us, the customer! We really like the style of this furniture, and would hope that Star Furniture and Craftmaster would make this right, but nope. Star Furniture has been very, very difficult thru this entire unbelievable experience, the customer service dept has been very unprofessional, flat out lied, misleading, non responsive. Sitting on the floor soon!!

We spent close to $12,000 in Star Furniture. That "FREE TV" Star Furn is giving away as a "gift" is from Wal-Mart. We "qualified" for the 60" tv so we are receiving a Wal-Mart brand tv valued at $399. The rep said "65" smart tv from Best Buy". You've been warned!!

Worst Customer Service Ever

This was my first time shopping here. We bought a very expensive "solid wood" table and were told that the protection plan covered absolutely everything. So we purchased that and bought two extra arm chairs for the table. We have had it less than a year now and last week my 4 year old son was sitting in one of the arm chairs with his arm resting on the arm rest and kind of leaning on it and the arm broke off. My 4 year old - nothing out of the ordinary, not climbing on it, not a grown adult, my 4 year old. I filed a claim and was told that broken wood is not covered under the protection plan. The protection plan is with a third party company so I called Star directly and spoke with customer service and a manager and they said they won't do anything about it. They could refund my protection plan money but I wouldn't have it any more and this is the SECOND time I have had something break on this table in the 11 months we have had it so I didn't want to do that. (the first time was when one of the stoppers came off of the bottom of a different chair and put gouges in my wood floor). Beware when purchasing furniture from here, I have always heard their furniture was quality and they had good service but I will never shop here again.

I purchase several thousand dollars worth of furniture with Star back in August 2018 not even 3 months later the sofa was beginning to sag and look awful. A technician came out and agreed that the sofa was a defect and they took it away after several weeks of waiting for the parts to come in it was through the holidays so I was very upset that my sofa looked awful during the holidays where as many of my guests were here to see the sofa.

Sofa was taken away for another 2 weeks and repaired. The technician told me that if I had any other problems to call and they would resolve it ASAP as the sofa could possibly have a defect. My sofa was brought back to me in March of 2019 which is still well within the one year warranty. By May the sofa was very visible that the same problem was beginning again and when I reached out to STAR for them to come and look at it again and that I was still unhappy with the way it was looking, the representative looked at the pictures and told me that it was just wear and tear, whereas she (Melinda)had not even went back and looked at the notations that the sofa had once been repaired already.

I am very unhappy that within 2 months of the repair it is beginning to look very terrible again. I sent pictures and they agreed that the technician would come out again, it was the same technician that had fixed it in the first place which I'm sure would not admit that his work had not done the job of repairing it completely to make me happy. Of course he would say there was nothing wrong with it. I have spoke numerous times to the representative Deborah where as she had the Houston office look at the pictures did not agree to have another technician come out to look at it because it was just too far to travel from Houston to Canyon Lake to make the trip to make me happy.

I would also like to mention that the first technician that came out that fixed it and also came out and took a second look that said that it was just normal wear and tear had told me that evidently the sofa was defective and that I would be hearing from Star within a couple of days. Well two weeks went by and I had not heard anything and that was when I was told by the representative that they had taken a look at the pictures and it was just wear and tear. They did not even have the common courtesy to call me and tell me of their findings whereas I phoned them two weeks later for follow-up and was then told that they are not going to repair it. How professional is that?

They said it was normal wear and tear well normal wear and tear within 2 months of having it completely repaired is not acceptable to me. End of story I still owe a few $1,000 on this furniture and I am very unhappy I have not had it a year and Star is unwilling to take another look and resolve this issue. I know that it is still under warranty and I feel that it should be replaced or repaired not just continue to tell me that it is wear and tear which is unheard of until my 2 year warranty is up!

I have always trusted STAR and bought with them in the past because I felt that the quality of the furniture would be meeting my needs. I will never buy anything else from Star and to anyone else I will agree, do not waste your time because they are not in it for anything but making their money.

They do not back there quality of furniture at all and if anything they will make the customer feel they are below them and very belittling to them. The representatives need to be trained to treat their customers with highest respect and not belittle them when they talk to them.

I have requested all of the notations that Star has in their computer on all of the interactions that I have dealt with them, but as of now I have not received anything so that I can pursue further actions to get this matter taken care of and possibly for my sofa to get repaired or replaced. I've heard that Star is like this and that sometimes they will even delete the notations to cover their butts that they are in the right and the customers always in the wrong.
